Recognition or nostrification
Depending on the country where you earn your degree, your diploma is either recognized under the rules on automatic recognition of qualifications or requires nostrification or a verification exam. That’s why we check which path applies to you while you’re still choosing a university.
License to practice
To work in Poland, you need a license to practice, which is granted by the regional medical chamber. The application must include, among other things, your diploma with a sworn translation, a criminal record certificate, and a medical certificate confirming your fitness to practice.
If you studied in a language other than Polish, the chamber may require proof of your Polish language skills, e.g., an exam organized by the Supreme Medical Council.
Exam, internship, and specialization
The next steps, such as the Medical Final Examination (LEK), the postgraduate internship, and residency, depend on where and when you started your studies, because the regulations change. Before your final year, check the current requirements and deadlines.
Documents worth collecting from your first year
- a diploma supplement listing your subjects and the number of hours;
- certificates from summer internships;
- the curriculum (syllabus) for each year;
- copies of all your agreements with the university.
How we help
We support our students all the way to graduation: we remind them about documents and help with translations and the application to the medical chamber.
