Services on the Website

We provide the following electronic services free of charge:

  1. information about programmes, countries, universities and the cost of studying, including the university search and comparison tool;
  2. the free consultation request form;
  3. the newsletter and sign-ups for events such as webinars and open days;
  4. an Account in the Student Area;
  5. the option to contact us on WhatsApp (this service is provided by Meta under its own terms).

The agreement to use the information lasts while you browse the Website. The agreement for the request form is concluded when you send it and ends once we reply. The Account agreement is concluded for an indefinite period when you create your Account. The newsletter agreement is concluded for an indefinite period when you confirm your subscription with the link in our email. You can end it at any time with the unsubscribe link in every message.

Recruitment Services (such as preparing and submitting documents, translations, visa and accommodation help) are provided under a separate agreement. These terms do not cover them, and if the two conflict, the agreement prevails.

Technical requirements and security

To use the Website you need a device with internet access and an up-to-date browser (such as Chrome, Firefox, Safari or Edge) with JavaScript and cookies enabled. The Student Area also requires an active email address.

Using the internet carries risks such as malware and password phishing. Keep your software up to date and never share your password. We will never ask for your password by email, phone or chat.

Information about studying

Information about universities, programmes, tuition, living costs, deadlines and requirements is for guidance only and is not an offer within the meaning of the Polish Civil Code. We keep it up to date, but universities may change it. What the university tells you and what your Recruitment Services agreement says are binding.

Only the university decides on admission, and only the competent authorities decide on visas and residence permits. We do not guarantee admission or a visa unless your agreement says otherwise.

Student Area account

  1. An Account can be created by anyone who has received a Student Card with an ID from Edumetric.
  2. To register, you enter your ID, first name, surname as printed on the Student Card, a nick, email address, password and account language, and accept these terms. After five failed attempts to enter the ID and surname, the form is briefly locked.
  3. Each ID can have one Account. An ID is permanently assigned to one person, cannot be passed to anyone else and never returns to the pool, even after the Account is deleted.
  4. Minors use the Student Area with the knowledge of a parent or legal guardian, and anyone under 16 only with their consent.
  5. Your nick is visible to other signed-in Users. It must not infringe anyone’s rights, be offensive or suggest that you work for Edumetric. Only the Edumetric team can see your name and email address.
  6. You are responsible for keeping your password confidential. If you think someone knows it, change it in Settings and contact us. Report a lost Student Card to your advisor.
  7. You choose the account language when registering and in Settings. Global chat and the files in the repository are shared by all Users and are not translated.

Rules for Global chat and messages

In the Student Area you must not:

  • post unlawful content or hate speech, make threats or harass anyone;
  • post vulgar or pornographic content or content showing violence;
  • share other people’s personal data or photos without their consent;
  • send spam or advertise or sell goods or services without our permission;
  • impersonate other people or Edumetric;
  • post links to malware or phishing sites;
  • infringe copyright, for example by sharing paid textbooks;
  • bypass the Website’s security or collect other Users’ data.

You can block another student. They will not be able to message you, and their chat posts will disappear from your view. The blocked person is not notified. The administrator and Edumetric advisors cannot be blocked, so you never miss important information about your studies. In Settings you can also choose to receive messages only from friends.

Messages in the Student Area are not end-to-end encrypted. Do not use them to send passwords, payment card details or medical records. Send recruitment documents through the channel your advisor gives you.

Reporting illegal content and moderation

  1. Anyone, including people without an Account, can report content they believe is illegal or breaks these terms by emailing kontakt@edumetric.eu. Please include: why you believe the content is illegal or breaks the terms; where it is (the author’s nick, the date, an excerpt or a screenshot); your name and email address (not required for reports of child sexual abuse material); and a statement that the report is made in good faith and the information is accurate.
  2. We confirm receipt and handle reports without undue delay, carefully and objectively. Decisions are made by the Edumetric team [to confirm: without automated tools].
  3. If the rules are broken, we may remove content or limit its visibility, temporarily block messaging, suspend the Account or, for serious or repeated breaches, delete the Account.
  4. We inform the author and the person who reported the content of our decision and the reasons for it. You can appeal by email within 14 days of receiving the decision. We handle appeals within 14 days.
  5. Our point of contact for Users, EU Member State authorities and the European Commission under Articles 11 and 12 of Regulation (EU) 2022/2065 (Digital Services Act) is kontakt@edumetric.eu. We communicate in Polish and English.
  6. If content suggests a threat to anyone’s life or safety, we notify the competent authorities immediately.

Reviews on the Website

The reviews shown on the Website come from Edumetric’s profiles on Google and Trustpilot. We display them without changing their content, together with the rating, date and source. Each language version of the Website shows reviews written in that language. We show [all / the most recent] reviews from each source. We do not pay for reviews or publish reviews written by ourselves.

[To fill in: whether and how you check that reviewers have used Edumetric’s services, for example “We do not verify whether reviewers have used our services” or “We only ask people who have signed an agreement with us for a review”.] Google’s and Trustpilot’s own terms describe how they verify reviews.

Deleting your Account and ending the agreement

  1. You can delete your Account at any time in Settings by typing the confirmation word and your password. This ends the Account agreement and costs nothing.
  2. When an Account is deleted, we delete the profile, photo, friends list and inbox messages. Global chat posts are labelled “Deleted account”. The ID is locked and will never be given to anyone else. To restore access, contact your advisor.
  3. We may end the Account agreement for good reason (for example, if the Student Area is discontinued) with 14 days’ notice. We may end it without notice if a User seriously or persistently breaks these terms or the law, where possible after an unheeded request to stop. We always give reasons.
  4. A Consumer may withdraw from a distance contract within 14 days without giving a reason (Article 27 of the Polish Consumer Rights Act of 30 May 2014). For the Website’s free services, it is enough to delete the Account or stop using the Website.

Liability

  1. We work to keep the Website running without interruption, but we may take it offline temporarily for maintenance or updates. Where possible, we announce planned downtime in the Student Area.
  2. We are not liable for User Content until we become aware that it is unlawful. Once we receive a report, we act according to the moderation rules above. We are not liable for decisions made by universities or authorities, or for the operation of third-party services (Google, Trustpilot, WhatsApp).
  3. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits our liability to Consumers where the law does not allow it.

Complaints

  1. You can submit a complaint about the Website by email to kontakt@edumetric.eu or by post to our office. Describe the problem and give your contact details and, if it concerns your Account, your nick.
  2. We reply within 14 days of receiving the complaint, by email or post, as you prefer.
  3. Complaints about Recruitment Services are handled under the terms of your agreement.

Out-of-court dispute resolution

Consumers may use out-of-court dispute resolution, including help from a municipal or district consumer ombudsman, mediation or the permanent consumer arbitration court at the regional Trade Inspection office. Information is available at prawakonsumenta.uokik.gov.pl and uokik.gov.pl. Consumers living in another EU country can contact the European Consumer Centre in Poland (konsument.gov.pl). Taking part in such proceedings is voluntary for both parties.

Personal data and cookies

How we process personal data and use cookies is described in our Privacy policy.

Changes and final provisions

  1. We may change these terms for good reason, such as changes in the law, in the scope or way we provide services, or for security reasons. We announce changes on the Website and email Account holders at least 14 days before they take effect. If you do not accept the changes, you can delete your Account before then.
  2. Agreements concluded under these terms are governed by Polish law. This choice of law does not deprive Consumers of the protection given to them by the mandatory laws of the country where they normally live.
  3. These terms are available free of charge on the Website in a form you can save and print.
